The substation was built in 1924
to a standard design then used by
the IT. The Loveless Substation
was built midway between Carlinville
and Gillespie. The depot in Gillespie
had a substation as part of it.
Carlinville had a separate depot,
and a power substation was built on
the south end of town. The depot in
Gillespie has been demolished, and
the depot and substation in Carlin-
ville still stand and serve other
uses. This view shows the north
wall. |
