Postcard: Illinois Traction System's
McKinley Bridge, St. Louis, MO. |

| Description |

The card states the bridge is in Granite
City, Illinois, but the bridge actually
spans the Mississippi River between St.
Louis, MO and Venice, Illinois. The
veiw is very nice, because it shows the
Union Electric power plant in Venice
next to the bridge. The plant was
served by a spur track from the bridge.
The spur was elevated at the same level
as the bridge. The card is number 3 in
a series of scenes of St. Louis. The
card number is 21074-N, and it was
published by E. C. Kropp of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, a major postcard publisher.
The card has a white border indicating
it was published between 1918 and about
1930.
